Hangeul Quest is an online Korean language school built around real-life stories and scenes. Instead of starting with grammar rules, each lesson begins with a real situation — ordering food, visiting a friend, exploring a market — and builds vocabulary and grammar naturally from there.

Hangeul Quest is a self-guided app — there are no live sessions to attend. But every episode, quiz, and grammar note was created by Haeok (Kate) — a Yonsei University graduate and certified Korean language instructor (Certificate of Completion, Institute for Training Korean Language Instructors, Yonsei University Institute of Language Research and Education, 2022). The curriculum is 100% original, distilled from years of real classroom teaching experience.

Not at all. We start from zero — including how the Korean alphabet (Hangeul) works. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Hangeul Quest is a self-paced web app — no live video sessions to attend. Log in from your browser (no downloads or installs needed) and work through episodes whenever suits you: explore the scene, learn vocabulary and grammar, then practice with quizzes and shadowing exercises.

Not for Hangeul Quest — it's entirely self-guided, so there's no scheduled class or cohort to join. (Hangeul Quest Kids does include small, personally-taught live sessions, but that track is currently private — see below.)

There's no fixed schedule. Most episodes take about 20 to 40 minutes to work through, and you can pause and pick up right where you left off.

Hangeul Quest is for ages 13 and up through adults — a self-guided app with episode-style storytelling covering vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening in depth. It's currently open to new users.

Hangeul Quest Kids is designed for younger learners (roughly ages 6–10), with live, personally-taught sessions and game-based activities. Kids is currently a small private class for families we already know, so it isn't open to new public enrollment at this time.

Hangeul Quest (ages 13+) is currently open to new users. Send an email to hangeulquest@gmail.com with your age and current Korean level (none/beginner/some), and we'll set up a login for you. There's no live class to schedule — you can start exploring episodes as soon as your account is ready. We'll get back to you within 2 business days.

Not at this time. Hangeul Quest Kids (ages 6–11) is currently run as a small private class for families we already know personally, so we're not able to take new public enrollments for it right now. If that changes, we'll update this page — feel free to email us and we can keep your interest on file.

Our curriculum is entirely original — developed by our teacher and refined through real classroom experience. It draws on Korean cultural scenes and everyday situations, not textbook dialogues. The web app (lesson materials, quizzes, audio) is also custom-built.

Yes. Reading and writing Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) is introduced from the very first level. By the end of Level 1, you'll be able to read basic Korean text and write simple sentences.

Our advanced levels are designed with TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) in mind — covering listening, vocabulary, grammar, and reading skills that align with TOPIK Level 1 and beyond.
